Black Lamp Tattoo agrees to provide tattoo services, as requested, subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement.
Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of at least $95 and up to 100% of the estimated tattoo cost, is due at the time of booking. This deposit will be applied towards the final cost of the tattoo. For multi session tattoos, the deposit can only be applied to the last session. No appointment can be reserved without a deposit down.
For multi-session tattoos, your deposit will lock in this tattoo, as described when booking, with no other add-ons, to the hourly shop rate applicable on the date that the deposit was received, so long as all appointments take place within one year of the date the deposit was received, or as close to it as an artist has availability, this tattoo will not be impacted by possible increases in shop rate due to inflation or any other factor.
For multi-session tattoos, the minimum time billed for each session will be three hours, with the exception of the final session, if there is less than three hours of work to complete.
In-person consultations cost $35 to reserve. The reservation cost will be added to your full deposit amount, if the deposit is paid within 1 week of the consultation. If the deposit is not paid within 1 week of the consultation, the reservation fee will not be added to your deposit.
Also, any price estimate given during the consultation may no longer be accurate if a deposit was not paid to secure the booking.
If you were given a price estimate of your tattoo description, please note that we can only guarantee that same estimate for 1 week from the date the estimate was given, if not secured with a deposit. This is because the surrounding factors are subject to change. Not only may pricing or promos change but the artist mind is constantly evolving; gaining new experience daily, and building off the ideas we had yesterday. Therefore, even the way we visualize your design may be different each time we hear the same description. The pricing for our first vision may not match the pricing for the next one. Without a deposit, we do not keep the notes to re-visualize the same vision your estimate came from, for longer than 1 week.
Cancellations and Rescheduling: All deposits are non-refundable though we understand that life happens! The client may reschedule without penalty so long as 48 hours notice is given to their artist. If needing to reschedule more than two times, the client will forfeit their deposit. A new deposit will need to be paid in order to rebook for the third time.
The longest period of time a deposit will be held without an appointment on the books is one year from the original appointment date.
Design reveal and changes:
Only if requested, a design will be showed to you 1 – 2 days prior to the appointment date. Even if you book 10 years in advance, your design will still not be revealed to you until 1 – 2 days prior to the appointment date. At this time, please let the artist know if there are any changes you would like to make to the design.
The first design presented is included in the tattoo cost.
- Small Revisions: After the initial design, smalls revisions are allowed without extra charge. Small revisions are defined as minor adjustments that do not require significant redrawings or rework. The artist decides what is a small revision, based on how long it takes to do the revision, not the size of the area being revised. Please note that even some changes that are considered small and quick to change in the design, may end up adding time and significant cost in the actual tattoo.
- Major Revisions: Any major changes or multiple revisions beyond the initial design and one small revision will incur a fee. The fee for major revisions is determined by the complexity of the changes and the time required to implement them. This fee will be communicated and agreed upon before proceeding with the revisions. Payment of the fee is due prior to the changes taking place. Major changes that significantly alter the original concept or require substantial redesigning may result in the forfeiture of the deposit. Please note that any major changes may but may not add time and cost to the tattoo, aside from the design change fee.
- Colour Changes: Colour adjustments are generally included in the design process and are not considered revisions. However, if a proof or preview of the colour changes before the tattoo session is requested, this will be subject to a fee using the same fee structure. Please note that adding colours to a design that did not initially include colour will almost always add to the time and cost of the actual tattoo.
Deposit Transfer Policy: Deposits can only be transferred to another person if they will be used for the same tattoo design and appointment date for which the deposit was initially paid. Any changes in design or appointment date will be subject to the fee structures outlined above.
Touch-ups: To be considered a touch-up, the tattoo must have happened in one of our studios, by one of our current artists; Hayley Rodgers, Kayla Nash, or Amy Zelicz. If you are looking to have a touch-up on a tattoo that does not fit this description, it is advised to seek out your original artist. If you decide you would prefer one of our current artists to fix up your existing tattoo, our regular hourly rates will be applied.
A touch-up is not the same as adding details to a tattoo;
- Wanting to add details, or darken areas past what they were at the end of the original session, is not the same as a touch-up and will be subject to our hourly rates or a set price agreed upon by the client and artist.
- Changing or adding colours does not classify as a touch-up and these requests will be subject to the hourly rate.
- Finishing details on a tattoo that was close to finished, but not able to be completed in the last session due to time/ pain tolerance/ any other reason does not count as a touch-up, and will be subject to the hourly rate.
Touch-up fees vary between a flat rate of $35 for small tattoos or small areas of larger tattoos, and up to up to $80/hr for large areas needing touchups.
All tattoos are non-refundable. Your artist is required to wait a minimum period of 4 – 6 weeks after a tattoo for any touchups. Our policies will not be changed or disregarded due to any client not having availability, or for any other reason. Please consider the timeline needed for possible touchups when booking your initial tattoo appointment.
