Terms of Service

See in store for details.

Black Lamp Tattoo agrees to provide tattoo services, as requested, subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement.

Deposit: The client agrees to pay a non-refundable deposit of at least $100 and up to 50% of the estimated tattoo cost, at the time of booking. This deposit will be applied towards the final cost of the tattoo. For multi session tattoos, the deposit can only be applied to the last session. No appointment can be reserved without a deposit down.

For multi-session tattoos, your deposit will lock in this tattoo, as described when booking, with no other add-ons, to the hourly shop rate applicable on the date that the deposit was received, so long as all appointments take place within one year of the date the deposit was received, or as close to it as an artist has availability, this tattoo will not be impacted by possible increases in shop rate due to inflation or any other factor.

For multi-session tattoos, the minimum time billed for each session will be three hours, with the exception of the final session, if there is less than three hours of work to complete.

Cancellations and Rescheduling: All deposits are non-refundable though we understand that life happens! The client may reschedule once without penalty so long as 48 hours notice is given to their artist. If needing to reschedule a second time, the patient will forfeit their deposit. A new deposit will need to be paid in order to rebook.

The longest period of time a deposit will be held without an appointment on the books is one year from the date the deposit was received.

Design changes:  The first design presented is included in the tattoo cost.

  • Small Revisions: After the initial design, one small revision is allowed without extra charge. Small revisions are defined as minor adjustments that do not require significant redrawings or rework.
  • Major Revisions: Any major changes or multiple revisions beyond the initial design and one small revision will incur a fee. The fee for major revisions is determined by the complexity of the changes and the time required to implement them. This fee will be communicated and agreed upon before proceeding with the revisions. Payment of the fee is due prior to the changes taking place. Major changes that significantly alter the original concept or require substantial redesigning may result in the forfeiture of the deposit.
  • Colour Changes: Minor color adjustments are generally included in the design process and are not considered revisions. However, if the Patient requests a proof or preview of the colours before the tattoo session, this will be subject to a fee using the same fee structure.

Deposit Transfer Policy: Deposits can only be transferred to another person if they will be used for the same tattoo design and appointment date for which the deposit was initially paid. Any changes in design or appointment date will be subject to the fee structures outlined above.

Touch-ups: To be considered a touch-up, the tattoo must have happened in one of our studios, by one of our current artists; Hayley Rodgers or Amy Jem Zelicz. If you are looking to have a touch-up on a tattoo that does not fit this description, it is advised to seek out your original artist. If you decide you would prefer one of our current artists to fix up your existing tattoo, our regular hourly rates will be applied.

A touch-up is not the same as adding details to a tattoo;

  • Wanting to add details, or darken areas past what they were at the end of the original session, is not the same as a touch-up and will be subject to our hourly rates or a set price agreed upon by the client and artist.
  • Changing or adding colours does not classify as a touch-up and these requests will be subject to the hourly rate or a set price agreed upon by the client and artist.
  • Finishing details on a tattoo that was close to finished, but not able to be completed in the last session due to time/ pain tolerance/ any other reason does not count as a touch-up, and will be subject to the hourly rate or a set price agreed upon by the client and artist.

Touch-up fees will vary between a flat rate set by the artist up to $80/hr. The cost will vary depending on your artist and rate will be set at the artist’s discretion.

All tattoos are non-refundable. Your artist is required to wait a minimum period of 4 weeks after a tattoo for any touchups. Our policies will not be changed or disregarded due to any client not having availability, or for any other reason. Please consider the timeline needed for possible touchups when booking your initial tattoo appointment.

Failure to treat our artists with due respect: Demeaning, rude, or aggressive behaviours, comments or remarks will not be tolerated in person, or by any other means of communication, or online pages and channels, not limited to pages owned by Black Lamp Tattoo, but during any mentioning in any place of Black Lamp Tattoo and or its associates.

Failure to adhere to this policy will cause you to be blacklisted and unwelcome to enter any of our studio locations or step foot on property owned or leased by Black Lamp Tattoo and or by its associates. In extreme circumstances appropriately extreme action will be taken.

Artist Specific Info:

Amy Jem Zelicz

  • Style: Only booking realism-type genres of tattoos for the 2026 year. Deposits will not be refunded where the client changes their mind on style after booking. Please be sure you want a realism-type tattoo before booking with Amy Jem.
  • Cover-ups: Client can choose the subject matter of the new tattoo but MUST be flexible with the composition (positioning) of the new design. Clients hellbent on having their new tattoo done in greyscale, without any colour added, may require some laser tattoo removal to ensure enough dark and light values will show We will be offering laser treatments later in 2026 at a reduced rate for those who are booking a coverup-up.
  • Conversation; We’ve heard a lot of clients say “my old artist didn’t talk to me.” When describing what they considered to be a bad tattoo experience. Despite all that feedback about other artists, starting in 2026, Amy Jem Zelicz is asking you to keep the chatter to a minimum. If it is not related to the tattoo you are getting, or one you would like to book in the future, constant chatter quickly becomes a distraction from being able to give you the best tattoo possible. It also rings up your bill! When you speak, you move. Even when you’re making an effort to sit still, using your voice creates micro movements in your muscles that can cause the artist to slow down or stop tattooing while you speak, and possibly while they respond to you.

Hayley Rodgers – Nearing the end of her apprenticeship. Currently able to do any simpler tattoo style, and looking to take on more complex styles like realism. Hayley is looking to take on some smaller realistic tattoos. Take advantage of her apprentice pricing before she’s booked out.

  • Touchups; Free touchups, if needed, on any tattoo by Hayley. Hayley requires 24 hours notice to reschedule a free touchup appointment. Without giving 48 hours notice, a non-refundable $50 touch-up fee will be required in advance as a deposit to reserve the new touch-up appointment.
